My research examines the construction of perceptual awareness through sensorimotor interaction with natural and artificial sensory signals, attentional dynamics, and embodied experience.

I study the perceptual integration of artificial cues like magnetic north, how spatial attention operates in laboratory and real-world settings, and how cognition and conscious experience are shaped through skilled improvisation in jazz and everyday life, as well as through contemplative movement practice.

I’ve also co-authored recent collaborative work on the flourishing of science, proposing a value-based framework to support community, wellbeing, and rigor in research culture.
